Halloween 2011

Get ready for a many-pictured post: First, pictures from the weekend, when the warm California weather let us both carve pumpkins and run in the sprinklers, on the same day. We got two pumpkins at the pumpkin patch the other day. One was for Hayden's Mr. Potato Head witch. We didn't have to clean it out, but we did need to poke holes for the pieces, which I started and Hayden finished.

She also helped Sean clean out the pumpkin we carved. (She actually asked to do it!) A couple scoops though and she was done.

After she got bored with pumpkin stuff, it was plenty warn enough for her to play with her sink and run in her sprinkler.

Now on to today - Halloween. You probably don't recall, but last year, Hayden got pretty scared of all the people dressed up. She wouldn't answer the door with me, she didn't want to wear her costume and we had to force her to try three houses before she was totally done.

This year, she did great! I picked a costume where she would wear a lot of her own clothes and we talked up the pretend/dressed-up angle for weeks. Apparently it worked because tonight, she answered the door with me, gave out candy and went trick-or-treating to about a dozen houses. It didn't seem like she was scared at all! (Doesn't she look so big in the pictures below?? It's a little sad, but I'm so proud too.)
