I'm SO proud of everything Hayden has learned in swimming. She is doing so much by herself, things that she would never, in a million years, do with me. Last Friday was her first level three class, same teacher of course, but she basically did a combination of "swimming" and back floating across the short side of the pool. Even to the opposite wall. She still doesn't use her arms hardly at all, but as you can see in the pictures, her teacher barely helped.
Her teacher also did some new things with her, which Hayden has brought up several times since. One was an arm position called streamline, where she squeezes her ears. She did that while kicking on her back and while swimming underwater going forward too.
She doesn't always love it when the class is happening, especially when she's the only one because she has to work so much harder, but she seems happy afterwards and I'm delighted that she's learning so much.
