Time for a sleeping update I figure. It's about 50/50 these days, as to whether Hayden wakes us up in the middle of the night or not. When she does wake up, it's generally not more urgent than normal and is usually about something stupid, like getting a drink of water or blowing her nose. She had been asking to keep one of the lights on, so I did get her a nightlight (a Tinkerbell one) and that seems to have helped with some of the fear of the dark that seemed to be developing.
Her next sticker chart will be based on earning a reward, rather than just based on getting stickers for each day. I hope that will help and I hope this is just a phase but we'll see. It wouldn't get better if we moved her to a twin bed, right? (Since she's still in a crib.) If you think it would, let me know!!

Hey Jen,
I'm sure every kid and situation is different but we've been through the sleep stuff several times over the years. So far we've found that if they always get returned to their bed then they eventually quit trying and the phase ends. We have tried the rewards but so far our girls have just been motivated by the praise they receive the next morning when they "stay in their bed like a big girl!" all night long.
I sure hope this phase ends quickly for you.
Currently Samantha (who will be 3 in January) wakes up about 50% of the time crying and saying she heard "a car" or "a dog barking". I just reassure her there is no one "coming", take her back to bed and she goes back to sleep.
These times are a bit exhausting but I would say you are doing fine and there's probably not much more you could be doing.
Hang in there,
Lisa :-)
